Rural life in Central West New South Wales
A Life Connected to the Land

Country Life in Her Blood

Jeanette (SHED) grew up in Central West New South Wales, surrounded by agriculture, community and the realities of rural life.

Her journey has included physical education and health, farming in New South Wales, business ownership, community involvement and supporting people through different stages of life.

Living and working in rural communities also taught Jeanette (SHED) something important:

People often keep going long after they are running on empty.

Brain fog, poor sleep, worry, low energy and stress can slowly become accepted as simply part of life.

Jeanette (SHED)'s curiosity about what helps people feel, think and function better eventually led her deeper into professional speaking, coaching, brain health, and education.

Today, that rural grounding remains at the heart of Focus Open Mind. Her work is practical, down-to-earth and designed for real people living real lives.

Building Her Own Farm 1998

Following Her Passion for Agriculture

In 1998, Jeanette (SHED) purchased her own agricultural property. She operated cattle, sheep and lucerne enterprises while working to build and maintain a sustainable property.

During this time, Jeanette (SHED) also worked across several other industries to bring additional capital into the farming business.

Her experience included roles as a:

  • Casual teacher
  • Services and Programs Officer
  • Support Worker for NGOs
  • Consumer Advocate
  • Educational Facilitator
  • Centrelink Manager and Agent

Each role contributed to Jeanette (SHED)'s professional development and strengthened her passion for helping people work towards their goals and desires.

A New Chapter 2013

From Farming to Brain Health Coaching

In 2013, Jeanette (SHED) moved from farming into a new chapter of life. But her interest in people, health and education had been developing for much longer.

Her background in physical education and health gave Jeanette (SHED) an early understanding of how closely physical wellbeing, behaviour and everyday choices are connected.

Years of farming, business ownership and community life added another layer:

Knowing what to do and actually being able to do it are often two very different things.

That curiosity eventually led Jeanette (SHED) into professional speaking, coaching and then deeper into brain health education.

She trained through:

Amen University Licensed Brain Health Trainer
The Coaching Institute Professional Coach
Meta Dynamics Level 3 Facilitator
Chelsey Jean Lymphatics Lymphatic Consultant
EDISC Behavioral Analysis Communication • Behaviour • Relationships • Team Dynamics

Today, Jeanette (SHED) brings these worlds together.

Science and real life.
Education, speaking and coaching.
Understanding the brain and learning how to make stronger everyday choices.
The Science Behind the Work

Brain Health Without the Overwhelm

Jeanette (SHED) believes understanding your brain should not require a science degree.

Her work draws on recognised brain health, speaking, coaching and behaviour frameworks and translates them into practical language people can use in everyday life.

Through her training and continued education, Jeanette (SHED) explores the connections between areas such as:

The Brain
Brain function
Brain health
Thinking patterns
Everyday Patterns
Sleep and stress
Habits and behaviour
Communication and relationships
The Body
Lymphatics
Gut health
Physical wellbeing

The goal isn't to overwhelm people with information.

It is to help them understand enough about themselves to make better-informed choices.

Understand Your Brain. Understand Your Choices. Strengthen Your Life.
